I have been having great fun playing around with DSA and decided to do this week's UKS challenge in digi, so here it is. Had to use a photo, not person, journalling, ribbon and bling! Also had to use a sketch, which I took from a Creating Keepsakes magazine. Doesn't look as if my bling is showing up too well, but it is there!

My lo for January week 3 challenge on UKS. We had to use an old photo and journal about the story or memories. This photo shows my Mum and her sisters, taken circa 1930. I remember many happy hours sitting with Mum going through her photo albums and listening to her telling me about the people, especially her family and their lives.

These are the first two pages for Hedgie's journal, a challenge I am doing with some friends about the adventures of a soft toy throughout the year. I decided to print out the blog entries and use an A4 folder, but now see I will have to do each entry smaller or I will end up with an enormous journal!

Each day we have a prompt to help us take photos, we are all taking turns to write these prompts!

This is a lo I have done using some of a page kit from one of my Magpie teamies! Photos of dd1, who is not the world's greatest cook, but she is getting there with practise!

Took some time away from paper and scissors yesterday and played with Digital Scrapbook Artist, did have fun but havn't really discovered all it can do yet! Did produce these two lo's though!

Another challenge found this year, on the Kathryn Wheel blog, is to keep a calendar throughout the year, a bit like a mini journal! I quite fancied this as have never yet managed to complete a year long journal! Decided to do it A4 size so it can be kept in a file folder. Also decided I would try to use up old stash doing this, hence the use of lots of rub ons here, a packet bought a few years ago and never used! I plan to do each month differently but based on the same style! Already have ideas for February!

Wednesday 13 January 2010

Starting this month UKS has introduced house challenges each month. The first was to use just one photo and scrap your habits! I have put my journalling on the back of the tags, can you tell I don't want you to know my bad habits!

January week 2 challenge on UKS, to scrap forbidden fruit, use ribbon and flowers or bling! The paper is glittered, My Minds Eye, the ribbon is the original off the box of choccies, and there is bling but it isn't showing up! My dil's father has always brought me a luxh box of choccies at Christmas as we always included him for Christmas lunch, but sadly I missed out this year as they went to him! Probably better for my waistline, and choccies are off the menu after all I have eaten at Christmas!

Been playing around with digi again! Found a free version of Digital Scrapbook Artist, downloaded it and had some fun! DH had an e mail from Serif, with an offer for the full programme so he has ordered it, told me after the event! Looking forward to it coming as everything I tried to do in the free one said upgrade to full version, so frustrating!

Sorry for the quality of these photos, light very bad over last few days!

Photo of me out on a snowy walk! Recycled snowflakes from a Christmas card!

Photo of dd1 on our snowy walk! Now she is 30+ she sees the sense of hats, gloves and scarves, and even wore my wellie boots!

Here's a photo of dd3's scan photo, and the other photo is her with her current favourite food, methinks cause and effect!

Number 52, the final tag for 52Q challenge! I'm so happy I completed this, and nearly always kept up to date!

This week's challenge on UKS was to follow a sketch, use a celebration photo and ribbon, so I used this photo of dgs2's christening. The ribbon is across the lo, and also smaller pieces on each of the small squares.

Hedgie has been too tired, or lazy to do each day of the last week of JYC, but he has done these pages for the 30th, 31st and 1st January. He says he will add a few extra pages of photos taken of him over the Christmas period at a later date! Do we believe him? I think he found the whole experience quite overwhelming, so much to take in but hopefully by next Christmas he will be ready to party again!

Sunday 3 January 2010

Our Crafty Magpies leader, Karen, on UKS set us a challenge last week, and here is my take on it! Use a photo taken in December, use something bought or given in December, the large tag was in my SS, and at least 3 embellies. Photo shows dd3's partner learning to use his new camera!

Friday 1 January 2010

Day 26, think Hedgie is about done in for Christmas, and is having a "chill out" day, listening to cds! He is still trying to process and make sense of this Christmas thing!

Tag 51, about the best present I have ever given! Only one more tag to go then I've done the whole year!
