Playing catch up today for the last two prompts!

For this one Shimelle was using iron on transfer paper, none of that here so just used cardstock.

Today Shimell was imitating printed sticky tapes using any clear adhesive backed paper, I used Safmat. I started off with a black page and found the "tapes" didn't show up on it very well so changed the cardstock.

Today Shimelle encouraged us to put the printables on to chipboard to add dimension to the lo.

Tuesday 25 August 2009

Today Shimelle gave us printable papers and encouraged us to use them for die cutting, I used them for the flowers and the fancy borders. Photo is dd3 taken last year.

Tags 33 & 34 for Emily Falconbridge's 52Q challenge.

Today Shimelle gave us yummy printables all about cake! She printed the border of cupcakes on dotted cardstock, I didn't have any so printed on white card then embossed and lightly sanded over the raised areas. The cakes in the photo were on a stand in Covent Garden when I visited earlier this year.

Two lo's done using photos from dd1's day out last week with her friend.

This lo also doubles for one of this week's two challenges on UKS, showing happiness, using chocolate as in the scalloped card stock border, buttons and stamping.

Sunday 23 August 2009

This lo for Shimelle's Go to Press was about the weather, all the printables were weather based, and then a large circle of buttons was used.

This lo involved cutting out and layering the printables, with small flowers, letters etc. The subject was a view.

Shimelle provided the printable frames, quotes etc, I just had to distress and ink the frame, came up with this lo. Luckily had a photo of ferns to imitate the curling edges of the frame!

I spotted these trees on the South Bank last week as I walked over the bridge. Found out later they are some artistic statement! Quite eye catching!

Tuesday 18 August 2009

Today's printables from Shimelle were designed to be inked up, lighter shade in the middle and graded to dark at the edge, an alternative to colouring stamped images which I think is really effective.

This week's challenge on UKS was to use space, either as a theme or space on the lo, use a prime number, as in one photo, or one embellie or the actual number, have an outdoor theme and use yellow or bling! I came across this photo of a ladybird and felt it deserved to be scrapped for my nature album! The journalling is the nursery rhyme Ladybird Ladybird fly away home........

Today's lo for Shimelle's Go To Press class. Printing done on cardstock and use a sewing machine to embellish. I did do some fancy stitches as well as straight and zig zag stitch, but they don't show up too well!

Two lo's from my day out in London last week with my sister. We just happened to bump into Batman along the bank of the Thames! Just had to have a photo taken with him!

Sunday 16 August 2009

This photo was taken by my sister, explains the top of his head missing! The statue is Beau Brummell in Jermyn St, London! The plaque reads "to be truly elegant one should not be noticed"

Friday 14 August 2009

Today's lo for Shimelle's class. Had to find old book pages, paint them white, then reverse print the images on the shiny side of transparency and transfer to the painted page. Bit of a palaver, but quite a nice result.

Tags 31 & 32 for 52Q challenge.

Thursday 13 August 2009

Two more lo's for Shimelle's class.
This one we printed on ordinary material, I decided it would be fun to try printing on aida (cross stitch) fabric. This worked fine with the bolder prints but not so well with the fine lines in the words.

This lo used vellum to layer over some cardstock printables giving a softer appearance, and I also printed the frame directly onto vellum. The green pp is from a digital kit just printed out on card. The flowers are layered card and vellum.

This is my lo for August week 2 challenge on UKS, we had to have a love theme, memories, 5 of something and use a technique not done for a while. Dh is of course the love of my life, the little booklet under the love sticker has lots of handwritten memories special to us, I have used 5 brads, and the metal embellishments are something I haven't used for a while.

Lo no 6 for Shimelle's class, today we layered the printables which were done on card. I raised them on foam pads which gives more dimension.

This is lo no 7, printing on ribbon or tape. I chose some twill tape and was pleased with the results.

Friday 7 August 2009

Today Shimelle asked us to print on fabric, she was using the special ones for printers, but I didn't have any so taped a piece of polycotton to a sheet of card, then sewed around the ones I wanted to use!

Thursday 6 August 2009

Here is today's page for Shimelle's class, the printables were on transparency, I only used a quote and the tree so will have a play with the others at some point. Photo is dh and dgs1 spending time together.

Wednesday 5 August 2009

More pages for Shimelle's Go To Press class.
This one was supposed to be printed on labels but I didn't have any so they are on cardstock! Old photos of ds in his uni band doing a live gig!
Today's printables were done on patterned paper, a good way to use up ones I no longer like or would use! Photos are friends, and dh and I having fun with a sculpture! Yes, they are fossils on the sculpture, surrounding more old fossils!

Here's the boys busily engaged removing weeds from my patio, lovely grubby faces!

Tuesday 4 August 2009

This week's challenge on UKS, to have a theme of travel/journey, handwritten/ hidden journalling, use ribbon and the colour purple. The photos are packing the car to go on our 365 retreat weekend last June.

Decided to do Shimelle's Go To Press class which will use my printer a lot more for scrapping, and I get loads of printable to use! Here is my opening page, unashamedly "lifted" from Shimelle's design, with a few little changes!

Two lo's I managed over the weekend!

This one has the first official school photo of dgs1 taken at his preschool, he hadn't been keen to be photographed!

And here's another of my sister dgc, having fun with cardboard boxes!
