DGS2, definitely not happy!

Thursday 27 March 2008

These pics of dd3 and 4 were taken on the first ever Red Nose Day way back in 1985. DD3 has her face painted, a relic of the fun they had at nursery that day!

Tuesday 25 March 2008

This pic is the gerbera bought for me on Mothers day this year. It has siamese twin flowers, double head and stem, you can see where it is joined. I don't know how unusual this is! Still playing with paint!

Monday 24 March 2008

Pic is dd2 caught unawares down the pub! More cutting of my lovely BG 2 Scoops!

Sunday 23 March 2008

Another old pic of dd2 messing about before bedtime! Still playing about with paint!

Friday 21 March 2008

Team challenge on UKS, to scrap something food related. I'd not long taken this pic for a photo hunt, so decided to use it.

Thursday 20 March 2008

A mini book with stamped acetate cover, which holds pictures of the dog we had when living in Singapore in the early 1960's. His name was Dicker, which is German for "fatty", and he was quite rotund! He was a typical Singapore mongrel, tan and white coloured with a curly tail. We took him over with the army quarter. I have only shown a selection of the pages, all designed along the same lines.

Pic of dgs1 standing next to a very large inflatable trainer after watching his dad and aunt run in a half marathon.

Tuesday 18 March 2008

March week 3 challenge on UKS, had to use 3 embellies of some sort, title stretch across the page, pp or photo cut into a circle and spring or Easter colours. These white ducks have lived on the canal near us for a few years now, but we have never seen any ducklings!

Took this pic on a walk along our local canal, practising using my camera!

Monday 17 March 2008

A pic of dd3, poor child was always waiting around for activities of her older siblings, this was no exception, waiting for older sister to run a cross country race! But she looks happy enough!

Saturday 15 March 2008

DD3 modelling her new glasses today, thanks to PennyK for the papers and embellies used on this lo. Felt brave again and cut into the paper.

DH messing around with dd1 and 3. Why do family never let you get a decent photo without being silly?

Friday 14 March 2008

Still challenging myself to use paint, this time I got brave and let it go on the photo too!

Thursday 13 March 2008

Card made for sil using another die cut from Craftwork Cards. He always makes me a cappuccino after a meal so this is appropriate!

March week 2 challenge on UKS, using the theme of friendship! For the metal elements I used washers and embossed them with gold, then threaded ribbons held with staples. LO based on a sketch from Mojoholders.

Wednesday 12 March 2008

LO using a pic of dgs1 absorbed in playing with Toby, lying on the floor! All chipboard elements are handmade, painted, stamped and covered in diamond glaze.

Birthday card made for dh sister using the diecut card from Craftwork Cards, have crimped the paper case, doesn't show up too well on pic! Cherry is covered with diamond glaze so it is shiny!

I finally got brave and cut into BG 2 Scoops and used some of the matching chipboard. Photo is of dd1's beautiful blue eyes!

Tuesday 11 March 2008

Dgs2 having fallen asleep when visiting!

Monday 10 March 2008

365 Challenge

Page 70 - Balance, first thought was scales which led me to take a pic of the weights from Mum's old balance type scales, goodness knows why I keep them, just like them! And they bring back memories of Mum teaching me to cook! Afraid I used the same title arrangement as on a previous lo too! Does everything in this life have a balance, eg, black and white, good and evil etc! Balance is important in life, that is why I have reflexology and have had accupuncture in the past, to keep my body balanced.

Sunday 9 March 2008

Dgs1's first taste of spare ribs, bit puzzled at first being given what appeared to be bones, but soon tucked in and enjoyed them! This was a scraplift challenge for our team on UKS

365 Challenge

Page 69 - Comfort, first thought, comforting people, then comfort in life, such as chairs etc. Things we can gain comfort from, cuddling bears etc! And of course, comfort food! We all like our home comforts! Pic is me and dgs2 who is looking very worriedly at his dad while I try to comfort him!

Saturday 8 March 2008

365 Challenge

Page 68 - Patience, first thing I thought of was the card game, then the modern equivalent, playing cards on the computer, hence the photo! Memories of Dad playing patience in the evenings and my Grandma teaching me many different variations of patience. Then to the virtue, and the poem Mum used to quote to us as children! Am I a patient person...............

365 Challenge

Page 67 - today's word is sweet, immediately think of sweets and chocolate, what does that say about me? But people can be sweet, especially young children, and actions can also be sweet! This tin of sweets if from Christmas, and it is still three quarters full!

March week 1 UKS challenge

Picture of swans at Windsor on the Thames! Had to use green, a sketch, scraps and be inspired by nature.

For Grandad's album, dgs1 learning to play pool with his Dad!

DD1's friends daughter, growing up so fast, now at school!

February week 4 challenge on UKS

Behind with this one, week 4 challenge on UKS. Picture is of fountain at Centre Parcs in the middle of the lake!

Thursday 6 March 2008

365 Challenge

Page 66 - Soft, we all like soft, my favourite, soft freshly laundered white towels! But I took this pic of a soft toy dog we bought Mum after Dad died, she'd always wanted a dog but Dad didn't really like them. So here was her dog, but no hassle! He now has a home on my bed! Soft can apply to people as well as things too!

Wednesday 5 March 2008

365 Challenge

Page 65 - explore, hmmm, myself or the world? I have explored some of the world, being lucky enough to live abroad on several occassions but there are still places I would love to go! Myself, that takes some thinking about! Can also explore relationships, food and so many other things!

365 Challenge week 8 & 9 lo's

Week 9 lo, was lucky to get one picture of this blackbird through my kitchen window, his perkiness made me smile! Dimension was added with the use of chipboard elements and corrugated card.

Week 8 lo, my original picture was of my kitchen sink, so I altered it in PS for more interest. Have used PL sketch 73.

365 Challenge

Page 64 - today's prompt immediately brought back memories of Sunday mornings as a child watching my Dad polish his army medals and brass buttons ready for parade. I can still smell the Brasso and silver polish now! I still have all these medals but they are sorely in need of a polish to restore their shine!

Page 63 - I do live one day at a time since having cancer changed my life, I so appreciate things now and make the most of it all! Each day is really precious and I try to make it memorable even with just small things.

Page 62 - Mothers Day, and I was lucky enough to see 3 out of my 4 children today.Though they are all grown and left home I still worry about them, but they know I am here if they need me!

Page 61 - a new month, more expectations and hope! But still make the most of each day as it comes!

Page60 - an extra day to make the most of! We went for a long walk with the dog in glorious sunshine!

Page 59 - simple things give so much pleasure, it doesn't have to cost money! I had just baked some muffins and the smell was lovely!

365 Challenge

Page 58 - Make the best, always have done over the years, no new furniture etc when kids were small, saved for what we wanted. Now can enjoy the fruits of our labours. And I love candlelight!

Page 57 - Joy, caught just the one pic of this blackbird through the kitchen window. Windows, my view onto the world, can shut it out if I wish, or watch the world!

Page 56 - I am me, taken me all these years to get to where I am today, but I can be true to myself. With age comes ease to be yourself!
