Today's lo for Shimelle's class. Had to find old book pages, paint them white, then reverse print the images on the shiny side of transparency and transfer to the painted page. Bit of a palaver, but quite a nice result.

Two more lo's for Shimelle's class.
This one we printed on ordinary material, I decided it would be fun to try printing on aida (cross stitch) fabric. This worked fine with the bolder prints but not so well with the fine lines in the words.

This lo used vellum to layer over some cardstock printables giving a softer appearance, and I also printed the frame directly onto vellum. The green pp is from a digital kit just printed out on card. The flowers are layered card and vellum.

This is my lo for August week 2 challenge on UKS, we had to have a love theme, memories, 5 of something and use a technique not done for a while. Dh is of course the love of my life, the little booklet under the love sticker has lots of handwritten memories special to us, I have used 5 brads, and the metal embellishments are something I haven't used for a while.

Lo no 6 for Shimelle's class, today we layered the printables which were done on card. I raised them on foam pads which gives more dimension.

This is lo no 7, printing on ribbon or tape. I chose some twill tape and was pleased with the results.

Today Shimelle asked us to print on fabric, she was using the special ones for printers, but I didn't have any so taped a piece of polycotton to a sheet of card, then sewed around the ones I wanted to use!

Here is today's page for Shimelle's class, the printables were on transparency, I only used a quote and the tree so will have a play with the others at some point. Photo is dh and dgs1 spending time together.

More pages for Shimelle's Go To Press class.
This one was supposed to be printed on labels but I didn't have any so they are on cardstock! Old photos of ds in his uni band doing a live gig!
Today's printables were done on patterned paper, a good way to use up ones I no longer like or would use! Photos are friends, and dh and I having fun with a sculpture! Yes, they are fossils on the sculpture, surrounding more old fossils!

Here's the boys busily engaged removing weeds from my patio, lovely grubby faces!

This week's challenge on UKS, to have a theme of travel/journey, handwritten/ hidden journalling, use ribbon and the colour purple. The photos are packing the car to go on our 365 retreat weekend last June.

Decided to do Shimelle's Go To Press class which will use my printer a lot more for scrapping, and I get loads of printable to use! Here is my opening page, unashamedly "lifted" from Shimelle's design, with a few little changes!

Two lo's I managed over the weekend!

This one has the first official school photo of dgs1 taken at his preschool, he hadn't been keen to be photographed!

And here's another of my sister dgc, having fun with cardboard boxes!

This week's challenge on UKS, to use precious stash, my Sassafras bits, not got much left! A life theme, cuddles after waking from a nap, dgs, not me! Doodle or draw, stitching down left hand side. Swirls, die cut, and a cosy feeling, what better than a cuddle!

Tag 29 for 52Q challenge. Do you have a recurring dream?

Tag 30 - who do you need to thank?

Two more for my dear sister! My niece took her children to Manley Aquarium for some holiday fun!

Quick off the mark with this week's challenge on UKS! Nice easy one, only three elements, a love theme, pearls and something recycled. Love - is a great night out, used black pearls and the sparkly ric rac is recycled from one of the dd's tops.

Yippee, I finally finished the mini book that was a class from Karen at Total Papercraft during our 365 weekend. It was a lot of work, can't say I enjoyed all the sanding around the scalloped edges, but it was worth the effort! I have used some of my favourite photos from that weekend, but think I might add some journalling inside the front covers.

July week 2 challenge on UKS, a lot of criteria this week! Use stars, squares, white space, blue, birds and a celebration! Managed all of these! Photo is of the cake at the 30th anniversary celebrations of Fleet Knitting Club.

This lo is for the July week one challenge on UKS, title had to refer to summer, have a summer theme to the lo, have 2 photos, some ribbon and secret journalling. The photos were taken at the weekend when we went on a picnic with ds and family, the journalling is under the file folder!

This photo of dh and the girls was taken on Father's Day this year. I had deserted them all to go to a 365 weekend, so they organised a bbq for him!

Two more lo's for big sis's album!

Here is a lo I did in a class with Karen from Total Papercrafts on the 365 weekend! I love how it is so busy but the photos really stand out!

Here is a mini tag book which I made on the 365 weekend retreat. It is made from one sheet of double sided heavyweigh paper, folded to make pockets to hold tags etc! each tag contains a message from each lady at the weekend! Lovely keepsake!

Thank you to Barbara for helping us to make these!

Don't often do lo's of me, so when I saw this piccie taken by dh on a walk the other weekend, I quite liked it so had to scrap it!

A friend's dgd, isn't she cute?

A friend, with the best sort of baby, doesn't cry, need feeding or nappies!

One more of sisters dgc!

Sunday, 14 June 2009

This lo was done for the week 2 challenge on UKS, had to follow a sketch, use three different techniques and patterned papers, and include a number in the title. The photos show some brilliant grafitti along a footpath, and the artists seem to change the subject every few months!

More pics of my sisters dgc for her album!

A little boy, pleased to wear glasses!

Monday, 8 June 2009

June week 1 challenge on UKS. We had a sketch to follow, something handmade use acetate, so I made the acetate flowers and coloured them in, and use some ric rac. Photos show dd1 having had her new hairstyle from the training stylists at an Aveda salon, was a great change from her old style of just hanging long hair!

More piccies from my sister of her dgc in Oz. Here they are on holiday in Fiji, which is where their dad comes from so they stay with relatives, a bit of a change to their civilised lifestyle in Sydney!

Still doing the 52Q challenge, and loving it!

Tag 22, Which direction am I going? Somedays it feels like round and round in circles!

Tag 21, What would I do with a completely free day? Difficult one as most of my days are my own to do as I please!
